Matcha supreme is the finest of Japanese green teas. Blessed by mineral-rich soil, and a mild pacific climate, the first flush tea is cultivated in the northern mountainous region in Kagoshima. Altitude as high as 200m and surrounded by volcanic mountains.

The tea is shaded from direct sunlight for about 4 weeks before harvest which increases the chlorophyll and L-theanine contents contributing to a smooth and a rich vibrant green colour. The fine art of producing Matcha is labour intensive, it can take up to an hour to grind 30 grams but the result is an intense, umami flavour with a melt in the mouth softness.
